The first five episodes of the #startuppers webseries are dedicated to BeeHelpful, the Ticino startup - winner of StartCup Ticino in 2015 - which has developed an innovative hive system to improve the conditions of bee colonies.

Gianmario Riganti and Alessandro Gamberoni founded their company motivated by their passion for bees. With PrimalBee they reconstructed hives that are particularly efficient in terms of thermodynamics, an essential element for the survival of bee colonies. The system reduces human management requirements of colony inspection, feeding, and chemical treatment by up to 70%, which not only saves labour costs, but also reduces transportation expenditures as it is avoids the constant travel to check colonies.

BeeHelpful is now in the advanced stage, with the product being adopted by customers in several countries around the world. Now the company is ready for further expansion, which means finding investors willing to grow the company further. For this reason, Gianmario and Alessandro, both 'technicians', turned to two USI students in the Bachelor of Communication Sciences, Robert Sebastien Corobea and Giulia Munina, to help them "break down the communication barrier".

Robert and Giulia, with the help of Michael Gibbert, professor of Marketing at USI, worked to provide a communication strategy, proposing in essence to focus on target audiences - on the one hand manufacturers (B2B), on the other consumers (B2C) - and above all to develop a narrative on the 'eco-friendly' nature of the PrimalBee product, thus identifying the so-called core customer value, a founding element of many communication strategies.

The five episodes of #startuppers dedicated to the story of BeeHelpul are available - in Italian language - at the "Quick links" (sidebar). For information on the #startuppers series: www.litorale.usi.ch/en/feeds/8914
